George Conn (priest) : ウィキペディア英語版 | George Conn (priest) George Conn ((ラテン語:Conæus)) (died 1640) was a Scottish Roman Catholic priest, a Franciscan and papal diplomat in England. ==Early life== He was brought up as a catholic by his father, Patrick Conn of Auchry, near Turriff, Aberdeenshire; his mother was Isabella Chyn of Esselmont. He was sent when very young to be educated at Douay, from which he went to the Scots College at Paris, and Rome. He completed his education at the University of Bologna, where the Duke of Mirandola made him tutor to his son. Conn went to Rome in the summer of 1623, to work in the household of Cardinal Alessandro Peretti di Montalto, who left him a legacy on his death at the end of the year. He then transferred his services as secretary to Cardinal Francesco Barberini, and accompanied him when he went as nuncio to France. He was subsequently made canon of St Lawrence in Damaso and secretary to the Congregation of Rites. He also joined the Franciscan Order.〔
